In 2009, Thanakorn Pattanapong opened a small bench on Sathorn Road with a straightforward aim: to offer Bangkok's watch-wearing community a place where a watch could be assessed and serviced without the pressure of an upsell. He had spent the previous decade working across several European and Japanese movements during training in Zurich and Osaka, and returned to Thailand with both the technical grounding and the quiet patience the work demands.
Over the years the workshop has grown, but the way of working has not changed much. Each piece is examined on its own terms — its age, its condition, its history of care or neglect. The client is told what is there, what is worth attending to, and what can reasonably wait. Nothing is started without a conversation first.
Today Siam Chronos serves a steady clientele across Bangkok, from residents who bring in a daily wearer every few years to collectors with pieces that require more specialised attention. The workshop occupies a modest space in Sathon district, a short walk from the BTS — unpretentious, focused, and content to let the work speak for itself.

Grade-Appropriate Lubricants
We use calibre-specific watchmaking oils sourced from Swiss and German suppliers — applied in the correct quantities to the correct contact points.
Timing Machine Verification
Regulation work is measured instrumentally before and after. We do not rely on feel or experience alone — the numbers are recorded and shared with you.
Pressure Testing Protocols
Water resistance work is validated with a pressure tester where the case design permits. We do not claim resistance without measurement.
Written Condition Reports
For comprehensive services, a written assessment accompanies the work — detailing findings, parts replaced, and timing figures.
Secure Handling & Storage
All pieces in the workshop are stored in individual labelled trays and the premises are secured outside working hours. We carry professional liability cover.
No-Obligation Assessment
An initial examination is offered without charge. If the assessment does not lead to a service, the watch is returned in the same condition it arrived.

Watch repair in Bangkok presents specific conditions that a workshop must account for: high ambient humidity, sustained heat, and the fine dust that settles across a city of this scale. These factors affect lubricant viscosity, accelerate gasket degradation, and, in older movements with worn tolerances, can contribute to timing drift that goes unnoticed until a watch has run significantly fast or slow for months.
Siam Chronos was established with this context in mind. Our work on timing adjustment draws on measured before-and-after data from a timing machine, rather than subjective impression. Our seal and water resistance service accounts for the specific environmental conditions in which Bangkok watches are typically worn — humid commutes, occasional rain, and air-conditioned interiors that cycle the movement repeatedly through temperature changes.
Clients who bring us a watch often describe a similar experience: they were not sure whether the watch needed anything, or were hesitant to commit without understanding the cost and scope. We welcome that uncertainty. The assessment is free, the report is honest, and the decision is entirely yours. A watch that comes to us and leaves unserviced is not a failure — it means we looked carefully and found nothing worth acting on yet.
